MWS Scholarship Scheme Academic year 2023-24

AsSalamAlaykum Wa Rahamtuallahi Wa Barkatuh!

First and foremost, we express our gratitude to the Almighty for affording us the opportunity to extend assistance to those in need.

MWS has been providing educational support to students from various schools, including Martinet, Modern, Farah, and many others. We have been carrying out this noble endeavour successfully for the past several years. Alhamdulillah, last year, MWS managed to allocate Rs. 7,20,000 towards scholarships for approximately 62 students.

This year, we have continued our commitment to support the same number of students, expending roughly Rs 7,18,000. Such achievements would not have been possible without the generous contributions from our community members, to whom MWS extends its heartfelt thanks.

We would like to express our appreciation to Mr. Mohammed Imran, MWS President, and Mr. Syed Asad, Vice-President, for their unwavering support and assistance throughout. Mr. Nisar Ahmed Khusro, the Accountant & Treasurer, deserves special acknowledgment for his cooperation in facilitating the transfer of funds to India.

We also would like to extend our special congratulations to the exceptional 10th-grade students who have achieved remarkable score. The following six outstanding students, Mohd Abubakar, Shaik Bilal, Bushra Begum, Mahera Banu, Zeba Asmee, and Rimsha Kauser, have displayed extraordinary dedication and commitment to their studies.

Our heartfelt congratulations go out to these exceptional students, as well as to their proud parents. Your hard work and determination serve as an inspiration to us all. May your future endeavours be just as bright and successful.

May Allah reward everyone for their kind contributions.

Jazakallahu Khair

Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem

First of all we would like to thank Almighty Allah for giving us an opportunity to help and support people in need.

“BE EVER GRATEFUL TO ALLAH FOR EVERYTHING THAT YOU POSSES INCLUDING YOUR WEALTH, HEALTH, STATUS, INTELLECTUAL ABILITIES AND LIFE. ALLAH SAYS:

“IS THEN, HE WHO CREATES COMPARABLE TO ANY THAT CANNOT CREATE? WILL YOU NOT THEN TAKE HEED? FOR SHOULD YOU TRY TO COUNT ALLAH’S BLESSINGS, YOU COULD NEVER COMPUTE THEM” (AN-NAHL 16:17-19)

MWS has been sponsoring students from schools such as Martinet, Modern, Farah and many more.

We have been doing this successfully for last few years now and Alhamdulillah last year MWS managed to spend Rs. 7,20,000 towards scholarships for about 62 students.

This year we have managed to support the same number of students by spending approximately Rs 5,30,000.

This would have not been possible without the help of community members who donated generously to whom MWS is very thankful.

We would like to thank Mr Mohammed Imran, MWS General Secretary, Mr Syed Asad, Vice-President for their support and help throughout.

Mr Nisar Ahmed Khusro Accountant & Treasurer who cooperated with us in sending the funds to India.

Quirat Competition

Assalamualaikum,

Hope you all are well.

Alhamdulillah the Qir’aat competition has now been completed, we had a very good response. I am grateful to all the participants and their parents who got involved in it.
I congratulate to all the winners for brilliant performances and also to all the participants who took part.

Here is the breakdown of how points were allocated:
1. Quran – 10 points
2. Voice/clarity – 20 points
3. Tajweed – 20 points.

Totally we received 40 voice clips. Each voice/video clips was marked based on the above 3 categories. Wherever we had joint winners in second position, we had to skip third position.
As you all know that there was a minimum and maximum age requirements (5-17), but there were 3 contestants who were 4 years old and we have decided to award them as a mark of appreciation for their efforts.

I would like to thank Ad-Hoc committee members Br. Ahsan, Br. Hafiz Mujtaba for volunteering their time and effort to make this a success.

MWS Scholarship Scheme Academic year 2019-20

Bismillah hir Rahman nir Raheem

First of all I would like to thank Almighty Allah for giving us an opportunity to help and support people in need.

It has been hard, challenging and stressful last couple of weeks in sorting out the scholarship awards to the deserving students from within our community.

This is the first project since the formation of MWS that we have donated such a big amount and Alhamdulillah supported 60 students altogether with scholarship awards. The way Ad Hoc committee worked together was  outstanding and phenomenal, without their help and support it wouldn’t not have been that easy.

Totally we received 148 applications from Martinet, Modern and Farah schools as these were the schools MWS had decided to support the students from. Out of these 148 applications there were many applications that were not filled completely and also some applications had missing supporting documents. So, those applications were rejected as we thought these students are not that interested in receiving the scholarship, if they were then they would have taken it seriously and filled the applications according to the guidelines mentioned on the form.

There were few application forms which were filled brilliantly without missing any column and these students were among those with high grades/marks.

Out of the remaining forms we categorised in to 4, Cat A, B, C, and D.

Category A:
Students who were Orphan and also the students with outstanding grades (90% and above) were short listed in this category. There were few students in this category whom we supported in previous years.

Category B:
Students with Grades more than 85% and also from low Socio-Economic background were short listed in this category.

Category C:
Students with Grades between 70% and 85% and with low household income were short listed in this category.

Category D:
This category had few students whom MWS supported previous years but their grades were between 65% and 70%.

Our aim was to support as many students as possible from all these categories. Category A was a definite yes because MWS had allocated £2500 towards scholarships for 2019-20. So, CAT A students would have fitted in that amount. For remaining categories we were depended on donations from team members and general members.

Alhamdulillah as days passed people donated/contributed generously and before the final date we had a total amount of £7800 in MWS account which is good enough to support all the students that were short listed.

I would like to thank Br Asad, Br Ahsan and Br Zubair for their support and help throughout. Br Nisar who cooperated with us in sending the funds to India which was turning out to be a nightmare but in the end we got there and did it.

My sincere thanks to Br Qasim (Zubair bhais younger brother), Br Umair (Asad bhais nephew) and Br Ameen. These people were given responsibility to pay the fees in respected schools and Alhamdulillah they cooperated with us very well, without any mistake or error they have completed the given task with flying colours. Really appreciate their hard work and effort.

Last but not the least we would like to thank to all those who have contributed towards this cause either financially or morally.

HAVE TO MAKE TO GET THERE”
